A fully Qualified Domain is usually the last part of your e-mail address. In our case, it's the solis.co.uk part. As an example, let's say that you own a company called Acme Limited. You could register either acme.co.uk or acme.ltd.uk or acme.com - or all of them if you really wanted to fully protect all variations of the name. Once registered, you can also run your own 'virtual' World Wide Web Server; http://www.acme.co.uk or http://www.acme.ltd.uk etc. Solis frequently register Fully Qualified Domains for our customers, and can advise on what's already taken. We can of course still register your chosen domain, even though you may decide not to use it straight away. If this is the case, we still make a charge of £18 per Quarter for the electronic storage and maintenance of your name, so you can rest assured that nobody else can register your name without your knowledge, and then try to sell it back to you at a later date (sadly, this is increasing these days). Please Note: When you ask us to register a domain in the .uk hierarchy you are entering into two contracts. The first is obviously with us, acting as your agent and asking us to look after and administer the domain on your behalf - which also includes paying for it and renewing it as appropriate. Because the domain is your property, it is also your liability should it be misused. The second contract you agree to is that with the UK Registration body, Nominet. It is very immportant that you are fully aware of your responsibilities to both Solis and Nominet before you proceed to request your domain name. Please take a few moments to read the Contract with Nominet. Placing an order with Solis to register a domain on your behalf is in itself full agreement that you have read and understood these terms and conditions along with our own Terms and Conditions of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
